ATTRACTIONS - an Exciting Blend of Today & Yesterday

At Cavendish & the Dune Shores, the beach is just the beginning. Beyond the beach is the largest concentration of activities and attractions in Eastern Canada.

You won't run out of things to do. Cavendish and the Dune Shores features theme attractions, an historic village, family parks and museums.

We are the home of the classic children's story, Anne of Green Gables. Step back to a simpler time and discover the sites that inspired the novel, including author Lucy Maud Montgomery's birth place and the house that inspired the novel's title.

In Cavendish, Avonlea Village will take you back in time to Lucy Maud's teaching days in a single room school house. The village has a chocolate factory, a traditional country store, church, stable, and rail station. Take a ride on a pony or a hay wagon, or sit down for a story or to enjoy some children's music. There is something for everyone!

The outdoor adventurer will love parasailing over New London Bay. Fly as high as a bird as you marvel at the view of the beaches and inlets of Cavendish from such an unforgettable vantage point. You can also explore at sea level with a personal watercraft, kayak, or canoe. If you want to leave the navigating to someone else, you can take a boat tour or go deep sea fishing and catch your own dinner. Or you can dig for dinner along the shore and steam your clams on the beach.

For landlubbers, there are trails for hiking, cycling and horseback riding, as well as environmentally protected areas for bird watching and enjoying nature.

Click here to search some of our attractions, and you won't be able to wait to check out the sites in person!
